2 Esdras 9:15 KJVA
I have said before, and now do speak, and will speak it also hereafter, that there be many more of them which perish, than of them which shall be saved:
In this walk you begin to realize at one point in time or another, that all of your friends and family that you have in this world, that you grew up with…They will not be saved…Well, at least not the majority of them.
This cannot only be a hard pill to swallow initially but can be a living hell as the thoughts and feelings ruminate around in your mind and spirit of being so deeply severed from those who you cherish(ed) deeply. Not all of us can simply walk away and never look back without feeling like, “Damn, if only. Or “why God?”
Wisdom of Solomon 12:12 KJVA
For who shall say, What hast thou done? or who shall withstand thy judgment? or who shall accuse thee for the nations that perish, whom thou made? or who shall come to stand against thee, to be revenged for the unrighteous men?
The first thing we have to come back into remembrance of is… Who can hold The Most High God accountable? Who can say this ain’t right or this ain’t fair or it shouldn’t be like this? No one.
Romans 9:14 KJVS
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
Some may feel that because of the choices God makes that he himself is a hypocrite or unrighteous. Why is there a final judgment? Can’t all the bad people just get an island or something? Or can’t we have like a purgatory where they can fight for another chance if they didn’t sin that bad? Everyone has an opinion on how God should be God.
Romans 9:20-21 KJVS
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? [21] Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
We are as clay in the potters hands. The potter will decide what he will do with each lump and how he wants it to be. After all, who knows more, the clay or the potter?
Romans 9:16,18 KJVS
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. [18] Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
God knows what he made, how he made it, and what it is good for, its limitations and its flaws. Even better than any of us could ever imagine or hope for. He is infinitely and immeasurably powerful, wise and knowledgable. If anyone or anything knows best, it is him. We don’t need God to get on our page, we need to get on his page.
Sirach 5:7 KJVA
Make no tarrying to turn to the Lord, and put not off from day to day: for suddenly shall the wrath of the Lord come forth, and in thy security thou shalt be destroyed, and perish in the day of vengeance.
We have to sober up our minds and spirits and take sorrow and convert it to joy that you were chosen. Take tears of sorrow and convert them to joy of how happy you will be when there will be no more evil in this world. Take pain and convert it to the pleasure you should feel being able to truly serve the living God. Take your crushed spirit and build it with the fortitude of discipline to carry out His will and teach others to do the same.
2 Esdras 9:36 KJVA
For we that have received the law perish by sin, and our heart also which received it
The thing that will cause the ones we love to perish is the very thing that got us in the place we are in now as a people. Even the whole world…Sin. The sin of man has brought us here.
2 Esdras 3:11 KJVA
Nevertheless one of them thou leftest, namely, Noah with his household, of whom came all righteous men.
Noah and his sons and their wives were saved because out of all the people that were on the face of the earth at that time, they were the only ones who were righteous enough to be acceptable to save and keep safe. Everyone else was defective, not worth saving. And at that time they were living for hundreds of years. So how big do you think there families were? How many people did they know? Yet, they all perished and less than one percent survived. Think of all the grief Noah and his family felt? But the relief in knowing that they did the right thing and God loves them.
2 Esdras 9:32 KJVA
But our fathers, which received the law, kept it not, and observed not thy ordinances: and though the fruit of thy law did not perish, neither could it, for it was thine;
You have to remember that our forefather and foremothers received the laws statues and commandments but made a conscious choice not to keep it or enforce it. Which was why we went into captivity again, and again, and again. And why we were disconnected from our heritage and why we are fighting so hard to get back. We aren’t in this state for no reason. And as you learn about regeneration (as there is another article I wrote going in-depth) this isn’t our first rodeo. You may have been a righteous Israelite then or one of the wicked ones that went astray then, either way, you are fighting (or should be fighting) to get it right and help wake up your people.
2 Esdras 9:22 KJVA
Let the multitude perish then, which was born in vain; and let my grape be kept, and my plant; for with great labour have I made it perfect.
The Most High does not care about numbers. The majority of people in this world do not matter to God and God does not matter to them. The feeling is mutual. Many people just like a concept of God but want him to be what they want him to be so they may live out their own pleasures. They don’t want to have to conform to a standard they don’t agree with or don’t desire to change for. And they will receive their reward as a result.
2 Esdras 7:20 KJVA
For there be many that perish in this life, because they despise the law of God that is set before them.
Many will die and suffer in this life and the next because they hate the government of The Most High God. And when you put things into perspective like this you begin to feel the same way The Most High feels. Forget about them, I am concerned with those who are trying to live as The Most High God commanded because that is who I am going to see and live with for all of eternity.
2 Esdras 8:55 KJVA
And therefore ask thou no more questions concerning the multitude of them that perish.
Don’t worry about those in the world and what all will happen to them if they don’t change.
2 Esdras 8:56 KJVA
For when they had taken liberty, they despised the most High, thought scorn of his law, and forsook his ways.
They had the opportunity and not only opportunity but freedom to learn and apply. But abandoned it and treated it like trash.
2 Esdras 9:11-12KJVA
11 And they that have loathed my law, while they had yet liberty, and, when as yet place of repentance was open unto them, understood not, but despised it; 12 The same must know it after death by pain.
They could have chosen, even asked to understand. But they chose rather to remain ignorant. They want to ignore it. So for many, it will only hit them when it’s too late. No matter what you say, or what you do, they will not change.
2 Esdras 8:59-61 KJVA
59 For as the things aforesaid shalt receive you, so thirst and pain are prepared for them: for it was not his will that men should come to nought: 60 But they which be created have defiled the name of him that made them, and were unthankful unto him which prepared life for them. 61 And therefore is my judgment now at hand.
Cause and effect, The Most High was only trying to set man up for success. All of the nations and all men living and all dead decided how they would navigate this life and chose up. Now you can too.
John 15:16 KJV
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Matthew 22:14 KJV
For many are called, but few are chosen.
