I Sinned and Nothing Happened!

Updated: Oct 9

Say not, I have sinned, and what harm hath happened unto me? for the Lord is longsuffering, he will in no wise let thee go.

Sirach 5:4 KJVA

Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where people relegate God to work as a police officer; if I see you do the crime, then I should immediately respond and make you do the time. Or if I sin, lightning should fall out the sky and strike me down. As a result, people can have comfort knowing I have done something the Bible says is a sin, or God says don’t do, yet, I am still here and nothing detrimental has happened to me. But boy, if only people knew the truth!

Ecclesiastes 8:11 KJV

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

When you look outside you don’t see the sky falling apart right now. I am not judged immediately in the ways I believe I would be judged or rather the bible says I should be judged, therefore, God is not real. God doesn’t see me, or God doesn’t care about what I do. But that is the root of the problem. You believe that because judgment doesn’t come immediately you are safe. It’s all good! So instead of changing, you continue down a path that is contrary to righteousness and pick and choose what you will apply and when. Planning and living your life as you see fit.

Proverbs 27:1 KJVS

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

You don’t know what will be on the agenda tomorrow, because you don’t know what all will happen today. Not only is the next day not promised but the next moment isn’t promised either.

Ecclesiastes 8:7 KJVS

For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

You don’t know the future. Need it be your own, a loved ones or life in general. And you don’t know exactly what will happen and when it will happen. There is no assurance of your life.

James 4:13-15 KJVS

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: [14] Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. [15] For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

You have to move with a mindset that the Creator can take me out at any time, therefore, I am happy for the time I have. Which Is why I say Most High willing. Because yes, you can make a choice, you can make plans but God can choose to override those plans.

Luke 12:18-20 KJVS

[18] And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. [19] And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. [20] But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

While you making all these extravagant plans and how you will live your life God has other plans. He listening like, “Oh, ugh huh. Really! Oh, foolish child. Tonight you die.” You can be perfectly healthy, yet this is the night for some strange reason you had a heart attack and died. Or driving to an event having a good time, may even be sober and you get in a car accident. A speeding driver hit you. You could be at a an event and get shot and killed by one well placed bullet. You never know.

Sirach 23:18-19,22 KJVA

18 A man that breaketh wedlock, saying thus in his heart, Who seeth me? I am compassed about with darkness, the walls cover me, and no body seeth me; what need I to fear? the most High will not remember my sins: 19 Such a man only feareth the eyes of men, and knoweth not that the eyes of the Lord are ten thousand times brighter than the sun, beholding all the ways of men, and considering the most secret parts. 22 Thus shall it go also with the wife that leaveth her husband, and bringeth in an heir by another.

You think in your mind that there are so many people on earth how can God keep up with me. I can’t even keep up with all my kids, friends, or coworkers. How he keeping up with everything I’m doing? Im sure he got better things to do then to watch me. You have to realize his mind and eyes aren’t like your mind and eyes. His eyes are not limited to what we know as line of sight. He lives in another dimension for crying out loud. He can see clearly in any and all weather conditions. Darkness doesn’t obscure his view like it does yours. Just as the sun is able to shine and when it’s beaming it lights up everything, his eyes or ten thousand times brighter. Why? Because man thinks, “Well the sun still can cast a shadow. And if I am inside and close my blinds I can block out the light. Yeah, that’s why God said his eyes are ten thousand times brighter than the sun. He can see through all shadows, walls, layers. His eye are not limited by physical material. He considers the MOST secret parts and sees all the ways of man.

Ecclesiastes 8:12-13 KJVS

Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: [13] But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

You have to stop thinking God is a police officer, who every time he sees you speeding he feels compelled to pull you over and give you a ticket. Or just because you committed an armed robbery He is supposed to come down and stop you in the middle of your crime spree. God works like a detective, He’s like the FBI, He builds a case and watches for some time and decides when He will pull the plug on you.

Ecclesiastes 8:14 KJVS

There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.

Sometimes things seem to happen in reverse. You can see people who seem to live righteously die in ways you feel they didn’t deserve, something you may feel that isn’t just based on how you know they lived. And see other people who you know are living ungodly and believe based on there lifestyle something should happen to them but it doesn’t. They appear to live healthy full lives. Not understanding God does good to everybody.

Matthew 5:45 KJV

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

God blesses everyone to a degree. And even worse, he allows Satan to give you all of your heart’s desires for the moment for being wicked. Did not Satan tempt Christ and tell him, “all this I can give you if you fall down and worship me?” So if you aren’t doing God’s will and are rather doing Satan’s will, by default won’t he bless you and take care of you? Yes!

Sirach 5:4-7 KJVA

4 Say not, I have sinned, and what harm hath happened unto me? for the Lord is longsuffering, he will in no wise let thee go. 5 Concerning propitiation, be not without fear to add sin unto sin: 6 And say not His mercy is great; he will be pacified for the multitude of my sins: for mercy and wrath come from him, and his indignation resteth upon sinners. 7 Make no tarrying to turn to the Lord, and put not off from day to day: for suddenly shall the wrath of the Lord come forth, and in thy security thou shalt be destroyed, and perish in the day of vengeance.

Don’t get caught up thinking I sinned and nothing happened to me. God is eternal, he ain’t like man, oh you did me dirty I gotta get you back asap. He knows, “I got time. You don’t” What’s ten years to a God that has lived for millions and billions of years. You not getting away with nothing. Only living with the illusion of escape. Like a hamster on a wheel you running but in the same spot. Then we be focused on propitiation. Which is, grace and mercy; forgiveness. Not understanding if you keep adding sin on top of sin you burned up your grace and mercy a long time ago. And still not understanding that he isn’t mad at the righteous, nor is he coming to destroy them. He is mad at the wicked. They are the ones he is going to destroy. You have to stop feeling like you have all the time in the world to repent and change your ways. The time is short. Don’t get caught slipping not paying attention and get destroyed.

Luke 12:45-46 KJVS

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; [46] The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

And even if you do get right which isn’t always the hardest part; can you stay there?!? You feel like, okay, there was all this urgency to get right, now I’m right and been right for a year or two, heck even 10! So that should be good enough, where he at? Not realizing this walk is a marathon. But if you get impatient or too distracted that old life begins calling back. You mess around and get caught up. Now he come and you ain’t ready.

2 Peter 3:9-11 KJVS

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. [10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

See, The Most High God is not slacking off taking a lunch break, messed around and overslept and forgot about us like you may do with some of your responsibilities. He is trying to ensure everyone has a fair chance to do what is necessary to be saved. But understanding this and all that will happen, how should you be in terms of your day to day lifestyle?

Wisdom of Solomon 2:22 KJVA

As for the mysteries of God, they knew them not: neither hoped they for the wages of righteousness, nor discerned a reward for blameless souls.

You so busy caught up in living your life that you are not concerned with understanding how God really feels about these things. Nor focused on, “Damn, if I stay on point I can have all this.” Or thought about, “there gotta be a God who care if I live a certain way and has something for those who do.” So you focus on YOLO! (you only live once)

Ecclesiastes 8:8 KJVS

There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

No one has power over death to say I don’t wanna die yet so I’m just gonna live another hundred years. Just for the heck of it. And you may have power to choose your sin, but you don’t have power to choose the consequences for that sin.

2 Esdras 9:7-12 KJVA

And every one that shall be saved, and shall be able to escape by his works, and by faith, whereby ye have believed, Shall be preserved from the said perils, and shall see my salvation in my land, and within my borders: for I have sanctified them for me from the beginning. Then shall they be in pitiful case, which now have abused my ways: and they that have cast them away despitefully shall dwell in torments. For such as in their life have received benefits, and have not known me; And they that have loathed my law, while they had yet liberty, and, when as yet place of repentance was open unto them, understood not, but despised it; The same must know it after death by pain.

On one end those that will be saved and be able to escape the destruction you will be good because your works and faith keep you safe. But those who choose not to change, who choose not to fight to be right according to the will of God, when you had time and the ability to do so, will have to suffer the consequences for their choice… Eternally.

2 Peter 3:13-14 KJVS

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. [14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
