And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Strong's Definition

God made Adam an aid. What does aid mean? Lets use dictionary.com to find out:
to provide support for or relief to; help: to aid the victims of the fire.
to promote the progress or accomplishment of; facilitate.
verb (used without object)
to give help or assistance.
Eve, as a woman was brought into the picture to be a help, to provide support to Adam. To help Adam progress in what it is he had to accomplish. The very thing that a woman should be striving to be, towards The Most High first and then to her husband, if she so chooses to be joined unto one.
Genesis 2:20 KJVS
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
See, the other part of God finding a help meet for Adam, was to be able to find someone that was able to not only be compatible with Adam, because you can be compatible with a demon. You can coexist with a demon. But that does not mean you are at one; that you are equally yoked.
2 Corinthians 6:14 KJVS
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
The first thing you have to realize is, is this persons mindset set on righteousness. Remember, man was made upright but started choosing other devices. God had to choose a woman that was first going to choose to do right. He couldn’t give Adam any old woman. Likewise, you too should be mindful of who you choose to join yourself to. Don’t just join yourself to any person.
Tobit 8:6 KJVA
Thou madest Adam, and gavest him Eve his wife for an helper and stay: of them came mankind: thou hast said, It is not good that man should be alone; let us make unto him an aid like unto himself.
Eve was made to be like unto Adam. As Adam was, so too was Eve supposed to be. Remember, Adam was ruling so he couldn’t just have any old woman. He needed a woman who was able to legitimately be a queen by his side and a help unto him in that position.
Sirach 13:15 KJVA
Every beast loveth his like, and every man loveth his neighbor.
See, every animal is going to dwell with those that are similar to it in its kind, if you ever see them dwelling with multiple animals outside of itself.
Sirach 13:16 KJVA
All flesh consorteth according to kind, and a man will cleave to his like.

Sirach 13:17-18 KJVA
What fellowship hath the wolf with the lamb? so the sinner with the godly. What agreement is there between the hyena and a dog? and what peace between the rich and the poor?
God had to make sure the woman Adam was getting wasn’t a wolf. She couldn’t be a predatory woman, on the hunt to take this man out. Or be difficult to work with.
Genesis 2:24 KJVS
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

A primitive root; properly to {impinge} that {is} cling or adhere; figuratively to catch by pursuit: - {abide} {fast} cleave (fast {together}) follow close ({hard} {after}) be joined ({together}) keep ({fast}) {overtake} pursue {hard} {stick} take.
When a man marries a woman, he is to cling on to her and keep her. No more are we single ready to mingle. Or single minded, only thinking about and considering ones self. But now, we have to consider each other in all we do and say.
1 Peter 3:8 KJVS
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Adam and Eve became one, by becoming one mind. They must be on one accord; they must be in the same book, in the same chapter. They had to both be concerned with what it is any and all righteous marriages should have at the foundation… Being righteous and serving The Most High. If you have that, you can work and build from there. If you don’t have that. You’re not going to make it very far, and your building will be in vain. As at some point in time, the home will crumble.
1 Corinthians 1:10 KJVS
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
It is vital that a marriage be so deep, that when someone asks you or your spouse a question, they should get a similar response from each of you, regardless of which spouse they asked first. There shouldn’t be a large margin of difference. And you certainly don’t want division and now there is anger or bitterness between you. You two should be able to arrive at the same conclusions. And if that can’t be obtained separately with time and growth. Then it should at least be able to be obtained though coming together and conversing about it, to get there.
1 Corinthians 1:10-13 KJVS
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. [11] For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. [12] Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. [13] Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
You cannot be one flesh and always have some type of contention. Now you are back being two. Well, I feel this way, or I am going to do this. We have to ensure, we are all on one page perfectly bonded together. Yes, we may have moments where we may disagree but we explain and weigh the options and come to a consensus. This is why marriage is so vital and even more so in choosing the right person. Because everything else you build from that point on, will be riding on it.
